The R.A.F. is also seeking a new generation of officers. Not only the pilots and navigators who will fly the new aircraft, but also the Ground Branch officers who make flying possible: the engineers, logistics experts, personnel managers, ground defence specialists, air traffic and fighter controllers and many others. They will all have important work to do.

the land reclamation scheme in the Netherlands. Mr. D. Perry showed us slides taken on a field course in North Wales, and also talked of the experience ! The most original meeting of the Society was given by Mr. P. Stott who spoke on the Geography of the Book of Genesis, in which he suggested where the Garden of Eden existed.
Annette Derham and Suzanne Rees contributed to the meetings by giving an illustrated talk on their recent visit to Switzerland.

STAFF NEWS
We welcomed to the school the following members of the teaching staff during the year:
in September. Mrs. M. Adams (Domestic Science); Mrs. R. A. Castree (German); Miss B. Glenn (French); Mr. K. Grant (jMaths); Miss W. Lane (French); Mr R. Perkins (Head of Maths); Mr. R. J. Wood (R.K.).
During the Autumn term Mr. D. Browning took temporary charge of Music and was then succeeded by Miss C. H. Cologne;
Mrs. Gow left at Christmas and was succeeded as Games mistress by Mrs. G. Rodger.
Finally at Easter Mrs. J. M. Saunders left and was temporarily succeeded by Miss E. Thorpe.
At Christmas Mrs. E. M. Halden, for many years accompanist during lessons and always ready to lend a hand at school concerts, retired.
Mrs. M. Wallis also joined the office as ssistant to Miss Dawson.
THE VITALIS SOCIETY
The Vital is Society has had another successful year and
again our gratitude is extended to Miss Strickley for her support
and hospitality. This year we welcome a new Vice-President,
Mr. Truman, who joins Mr. Goodhew in this office.
Subjects for discussion have included : Riots; Religion in
Society; Concorde; Universities; Expo '67; John Cage and Hypnotism — with practical demonstrations.
The Annual Dinner was held in April and the guest speaker was Dr. Peter Gosden of Leeds University, a former member of the school staff.
