I'll climb up the leg and have a nibble. Now I'm here, Help! That salt pot only just missed me. Ha! Ha! I can see my face in that spoon. I've a big pair of eyes and my expression! It's a funny one. JACQUELINE EDWARD, 1C. THE BLACK STALLION A slim and slender body With a dark, thick mane. Born and bred in the country Not in the smog and rain. A long sleek neck With soft, brown eyes, A nuzzling nose And ears cocked high. As swift as a swallow, As gentle as a dove. Tis he the one I follow, 'Tis he the one I love. LESLEY VIGURS, 2X. THE LADY OF THE MOOR She runs at night does Marallda's ghost, She runs both wild and free; Her fearful cry is all it needs To make the traveller flee. Her hair is white; her face is green — With a gleam in her wicked red eyes. She's up to her tricks tonight, my friends, As on the moor she flies. AMANDA HODGKINS, 2X. p13
