SCHOOL NOTES
September:
The school re-opened for the Autumn Term on 9th September. The new intake of first formers was welcomed to the school together with some new members of staff.
During the month the rehearsals for the school play began. Near the end of the month sixth formers went to Stratford for a performance of King Lear
October:
At the beginning of the month there was installed outside the school a new zebra crossing, together with guard rails, thus making it easier to cross the Ruisiip Road, which is carrying more and more traffic each year.
During the month members of the senior school went to the I.C.A. exhibition and also to a special educational conference on drugs
One of the morning assemblies was taken by some members of the Christian Union Some members of the school went to see the film : Richard III at Greenford Hall where a number of films are now being screened at intervals; others went to the Questors' Theatre for a performance of Marlowe's Edward II. A film show entitled History and Horror was well attended — although unfortunately half the programme failed to arrive on time!
November:
There were plenty of outings this month. The Sixth Forms went to the C.E.W.C. conference; first forms visited the London Museum and the third forms went to the Mermaid Theatre on a science outing. There was an interesting talk too on careers in the Police. On November 23rd a school Bazaar was held and many parents and friends of the school attended. Over £400 was made and the mini-bus fund was consequently able to reach its target. During the month the prefects began to run a tuck shop that was soon well patronised, the proceeds to go to charity.
December:
One of the main events was the School Play for which rehearsals had been going on for some time previously. This year
